Terms & conditions

Please read our terms & conditions carefully as it is an important contractual document. This is in place to protect both parties in completing a business transaction ensuring all parties can fulfil their obligations.

You will be asked to sign a physical copy of the document at the start of your training. However, reading online can speed up the process when you arrive at St Helens Motorcycle Training.

​

PPE and Clothing acceptable for training:

1.1. A UK legal motorcycle helmet in good condition must be worn at all times when handling and riding any of our motorcycles. DOT/ECE 05/06 are UK legal, DOT label only are NOT UK legal and will not be acceptabe for training. Do not hesitate to contact us if you require any futher information or assistance.

1.2. A pair of motorcycle gloves in good condition must be worn at all times when handling or riding any of our motorcycles.

We will not accept anything other than motorcycle gloves.

​

1.3. A motorcycle jacket and must be worn at all times when handling or riding any of our motorcycles.

We will not accept anything other than a motorcycle jacket. St Helens Motorcycle Training will provide all high visibility bibs.

​

1.4. A pair of motorcycle trousers are preferred for training, however, we will accept a minimum of DENIM jeans or work type trousers. Any kind of TRACKSUIT or LEGGINGS will not be accepted.

​

1.5  A pair of motorcycle boots are preferred for training, however, we will accept a sturdy pair of hiking boots. Steel toe capped boots WILL NOT be accepted. along with any kind of TRAINERS or PUMPS that DO NOT COVER the ankles.

St helens MT holds the right to deny access to any chain driven motorcycle for candidates without boots. Refusal of the change in motorcycle will result in training being terminated with NO REFUND.

1.6 Covid-19 restrictions for sharing motorcycle helmets are no longer in force. We still however strongly encourage all candidates to provide their own motorcycle helmets and gloves. We store a selection of standard sized helmets, ie. small, medium , large and extra large. If any candidate feels they will need a non-standard size helmet, they must provide their own.

If any of our helmets and PPE equipmentand does NOT FIT on the day of any CBT/lesson. The CBT/lesson will be terminated with FULL LOSS OF FEE. So please be aware this is and do so at your own RISK. We always recommend use of your own helmet.

1.7 St Helens Motorcycle Training or any of it's instructors  hold the right to CANCEL training for any missing, incorrect and unsuitable clothing. This will result in full LOSS OF FEE'S.

​

Bookings and Payments:

2.1 All training services must be paid for IN FULL at the point of booking. St Helens Motorcycle Training hold the right to ask for any payments in full or deposit amount, to complete a booking.

​

2.2 Payments can be made by BANK TRANSFER or cash in store.

St Helens Motorcycle Training has a seven working days cancellation policy. Any booking made then subsequently cancelled inside of this period will result in FULL LOSS OF ANY FEE'S. We do not refund any booking that has been cancelled by you within these seven days. This includes being sick on the day.

2.3 A time period of 20 minutes will be given from the start time of any booking. Any late arrivals MUST CONTACT St. Helens Motorcycle Training within this time period. St. Helens Motorcycle Training hold the right to cancel any training for late arrivals with full LOSS OF FEE'S. We will NOT contact late arrivals as it is not our responsibility to follow up late arrivals.

2.4 St Helens Motorcycle Training holds the right to cancel any booking at anytime if it is unable to provide the service of training. We will provide you with a new booking date and time subject to availability.  FEE'S ARE NON REFUNDABLE

2.5 Any bookings made in store are not covered by distance selling regulations and are NON FEFUNDABLE.

​

2.6 All completed lessons are a completed contract between both parties. You the candidate and St Helens MT.

WE DO NOT REFUND FOR ANY COMPLETED LESSONS.

CBT and Direct access lessons:

3.1 CBT training courses are conducted at learner pace. St Helens Motorcycle Training will set the start time, however candidates will be asked to make themselves availability for up to seven hours. The course may finish sooner, depending on abilities. All CBT training courses will however spend a minimum of two hours on the public roads regardless of experience. This is a legal requirement and is set by the Driving and Vehicle Standards Agency.

3.2 CBT training course fee is for ONE DAY ONLY and not untill the course is completed. Our times are 9am up to 4pm or 10am up to 5pm including any refreshment and toilet breaks.  It may take less time depending on pupil ability. However, it can take more than one day. So if it is required that the candidate must return to St Helens motorcycle training on a second day of extended training to complete the CBT course. This would then be charged at a rate of £40.00 per hour to the candidate.

This will need to be paid at the the time of booking. This hourly rate is for CBT CONTINUATION ONLY.

The price of our lessons is not the same as the CBT continuation rate. (contact us for more price details).

3.3 CBT training courses may have more than one candidate. We will ask you some basic questions about your riding experience. We do this to cater your needs and give you the best experience with your training. We are here for all learners at every level, from novice to experienced. However, giving incorrect or false information can result in St Helens motorcycle training needing to cancel the training with full LOSS OF FEE'S.

3.4 All training courses will be subject to a standard eyesight check. https://www.gov.uk/driving-eyesight-rules. 

Any failed minimum eyesight check will result in a cancellation of training and full LOSS OF FEE'S.

​

3.5 CBT candidates must have a basic knowledge of the highway code and is a condition of UK licence application. All candidates will be asked basic road rule questions. Lack of highway code knowledge will result in termination of the CBT with FULL LOSS OF FEE'S. 3.6 Direct access lessons are two hours long including breaks. St Helens Motorcycle Training will provide a start time. Lessons may run slightly under or over time depending on traffic conditions.

Candidates can end their training at any time they wish with NO REFUND of fee's or time remaining carried over.

3.7 All training is weather permitting, St Helens Motorcycle Training holds the right to cancel any training due to weather safety concerns at any time. Candidates will be TIME refunded.

​

3.8 All breaks will be set by St Helens Motorcycle Training. Toilet facilities will be made available and can be used at any time needed.

​

​

Driving licence and documents:

4.1 All training will be subject to a UK driving licence disqualification check. This will ensure all provisional entitlements are met and no disqualifications are in place.  St Helens motorcycle training ask at that all candidate bring with them a copy of their national insurance number. The candidate will need to give permission to St Helens Motorcycle Training to run the online D.V.L.A licence check.

4.2 All photographs on the photocard style licence must be in date to be valid. Section 4b shows the expiry date of photograph. Any candidate with a paper only style licence will need to bring a valid and in date photo identification. UK passports are preferred.

4.3 Any candidate who can not provide a valid UK driving licence on arrival will have their training cancelled with FULL LOSS OF FEE'S

​

4.4 Motorcycle theory pass certificate is not required for training. However once passed we strongly advise candidates to carry them with you when conducting lessons. CBT training courses DO NOT require a motorcycle theory.

​

Damages, fault and non fault:

5.1 Damages to any motorcycles will be assessed by the training instructor. Cosmetic damages that do not affect the function of the motorcycle will be covered by St. Helens Motorcycle Training. Any damages to a motorcycle that stop the function and use of the machine, charges MAY apply and termination of the training may occur.

5.2 Any non fault damages that may lead to training being cancelled (i.e. tyre puncture on the road.) St Helens Motorcycle Training will re-arrange any lost time.

​

5.3 Candidates sitting either of the module 1 or 2 motorcycle tests will need to loan the instructor and motorcycle. St Helens Motorcycle Training will fully inspect the motorcycle and ensure that it is fit for test conditions. Any non fault damage to the motorcycle whilst conducting the test and under the supervision of a D.V.S.A examiner (i.e. tyre puncture) is NOT the responsibility of St. Helens Motorcycle Training. St Helens Motorcycle Training is responsible for LOAN FEE'S ONLY. St Helens Motorcycle Training is not responsible for any payments made by candidates to D.V.S.A. and WILL NOT refund any lost test fee's.

Data protection:

6.1 Any personal infomation given to St. Helens Motorcycle Training WILL NOT be shared to any 3rd parties. C.B.T candidates must accept that names, driving licence numbers and addresses MUST be sent to the D.V.S.A.

​

6.2 Your privacy is crutial to us, we respect your privacy and St. Helens Motorcycle Training comforms with all general data protection regulation U.K(G.D.P.R).

​

6.3 We are the Data controller of the personal data we process in the services we provide for you.

​

6.4 At the beginning or at the time of collecting any personal data, we will identify the purpose for which information is being collected. 

​

6.5 We implement measures to ensure your personal data is secure.

​

6.7 Any candidate under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the start of any training in order to co-sign any required documents. Training will only commence once these documents are signed.

​

6.4 Any training being conducted on the training site or the public highway MUST NOT be photographed or filmed. St Helens Motorcycle Training instructors do however have recording equipment whilst out on the public highway for insurance purposes only.
